The Complete Player Basketball Camp is returning to Batavia High School again this summer as local Hall of Famer, Craig Sanders heads up the camp for the 10th year.

“My goal is to offer the proper fundamentals to exceed at any level,” Sanders said on his website. “Cincinnati is a very competitive city when it comes to basketball, so there is no time to be sitting around because the competition is getting better every day.

“I was fortunate to be taught by NCAA All-Americans, NBA players and major college coaches the correct way to work out. I pass this information along in every camp, clinic and team training that I do.”

The camp, which will take place at Batavia from July 8 through July 11, and is open to all players grades second through ninth. The campers will be split up according to age with the boys’ camp taking place in the morning and the girls’ taking place in the afternoon.

With the help of numerous coaches, Sanders offers an eight-to-one player to coach ratio. Each camper receives a Complete Player t-shirt and a summer workout packet. The camp consists of 1-on-1 and 2-on-2 tournament, offensive and defensive drills, league and tournament play, hot shot and guest speakers among other things.

Sanders and his coaches employ energy, enthusiasm and build confidence in young players. The camp promises drills and workouts that players have never seen before and which makes them eager to return the following day.

Sanders is a member of the Greater Cincinnati Basketball Hall of Fame as well as the McNicholas High School Hall of Fame. His accolades include being named the 1997 District Player of the Year as a senior at McNick before playing collegiately at Northern Kentucky University where he became the all-time leading scorer.
