Chad Dorsey of Clermont Northeastern High School has been honored as the January Student of the Month by the Batavia Rotary Club. He was chosen for his school participation, academic record, and service to the community.
“Chad walks into the room and the energy level goes up”, John Eckert, CNE High School Principal said. “He is an excellent ambassador for CNE.”
Dorsey has many accomplishments of which to be proud. He has a 3.382 GPA and participates in post-secondary classes. He has played basketball for twelve years, varsity for two of those years. He has also played varsity baseball two out of four years with CNE, and enjoyed being part of the football team his junior year.
He has been honored as Student of the Month at CNE and is also part of the Leo Club, which is a high school version of the Lions Club.
Dorsey is very involved with the Leo Club community service projects as often as his schedule allows.
Dorsey’s course of study after graduation is undecided at this time. He plans to attend Miami University or Ohio University and is interested in Finance or Broadcasting as his major. Dorsey is currently employed at Terrace Park Country Club and enjoys spending his spare time with family and friends.
The Batavia Rotary Club recognizes one high school student from CNE Schools each month throughout the regular school year. Students are nominated for this award for their school work and service to their community in keeping with the Rotary motto, “Service Above Self.”
The Batavia Rotary Club is comprised of a diverse group of community-minded members that work together to address various community and international needs while promoting peace and understanding throughout the world. Meetings are held every Tuesday at 7 a.m. at the Hawk Building on Taylor Road, Clermont County Airport. Prospective new members and visiting Rotarians are always welcome.
