HealthSource of Ohio will be offering free, mini health evaluations at EastGate Mall Dec. 15.

Certified HealthSource personnel will be located in the center court of the mall from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to complete assessments, which will include height and weight measurements, a blood pressure check, body mass index assessments, and fasting glucose and cholesterol screenings.

“We’re really excited to provide the service and we hope the community enjoys it and takes advantage of it,” Shannon Nielson, director of decision support at HealthSource of Ohio, said.

Nielson said they have been offering the assessments for several years at EastGate Mall and other companies and schools.

She said the mall has been a great location to have the assessments.

“It’s busy,” Nielson said. “Everyone is out shopping. It’s a great opportunity to reach out to the most number of residents and it is convenient.”

Nielson said they have a physician and nurse practitioner at the event to speak with residents who have any concerns.

“If a reading comes up abnormal, we can do a referral or schedule a patient on the spot,” Nielson said.

Nielson said, unfortunately, for many individuals, they go years without having a proper check-up. She said the event is a great opportunity to give people feedback about their health and let them know that HealthSource is located in the area.

HealthSource of Ohio has several locations in Clermont County including offices in Batavia, Eastgate, Goshen and New Richmond.

Nielson said residents do not have to make an appointment to receive a health assessment at the mall. She said if they would like the most accurate glucose and cholesterol screening, they should fast for several hours prior to the screening.
