The Batavia Youth Football League Bulldogs have just completed a very successful season that saw the 5-6-year old team finish with a 3-5 record and earn a playoff berth.

As a member of the Clermont County Youth Football League, the Bulldogs played a schedule of opponents from around the county and earned the first playoff berth for their age division in a long time, according to head coach Jerry Black.

Black called this year a “nice turnaround for everyone” after a less-than stellar 2011-12 season.

Following the completion of the regular season, the BYF Bulldogs received a No. 6 seed and faced off with Goshen, who earned the No. 3 seed.

The Bulldogs fought hard, but came up short of the Warriors, ending their season on the losing end of a 12-0 final score.

While the 5-6-year old Bulldogs will not be competing in the Super Bowl, three of the six age groups from the BYF program will be playing for championships this coming weekend.

The 8-year olds, 9-year olds and 11-12-year olds will be playing at Goshen High School with the 8-year old game beginning at 12:30 pm with the other age groups to follow.
