The League of Women Voters will celebrate the 92nd Anniversary of the Ratification of the 19th Amendment, giving women the right to vote, with its sixteenth annual event where the volunteer work of women in Clermont County will be celebrated.

This year seven nominees for the annual Orpha Gatch Award will be honored Wednesday, Aug. 29 at Receptions, Eastgate, 4450 Eastgate Blvd.

The theme for this year’s dinner will be “ Women in Education,” with a presentation by League member, Distinguished Alumni of UC Clermont recipient, and West Clermont Assistant Superintendent, M.E. Steele Pierce. The buffet dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m.

Orpha Gatch was an active suffragette and a longtime resident of Milford. The League is proud to be able to honor her each year for her leadership in helping women get the right to vote and her leadership in the League of Women Voters right here in Clermont County.

All citizens are invited to help celebrate the Citizenship supported by the League of Women Voters and the volunteer leadership shown by our 2012 nominees: Michelle Balside, Lamonica Friedman, Sue Grone, Candace Koch, Mary Jo O-Brien, Jan Schoellman and Bobbie Tureen.

Reservations for the $35 dinner can be made at www.lwvclermont.com or by mailing a check to LWVCC, P.O. Box 733, Milford, OH 45150.
