Michael John Janovic, 71, of Milford, died June 11 at Select Specialty Hospice at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Janovic began a career in teaching after he graduated from the University of Akron and received his master’s degree at the University of Kentucky. He became a college professor at the University of Cincinnati and was also a professor at the University of Kentucky, Corning College, Youngstown State and Wilmington College, where he was the department chairman for the marketing and business department.
Janovic was also the strategic planning director for General Tire Company of Akron Ohio. Was a guest lecturer at Columbia University and was the assistant Scout Master for more than 10 years of Troop 69 in Akron.
He is survived by his wife Cheryl Hern-Janovic, son Ryan (Shannon) Janovic, daughter Andrea Janovic, step-sons Bryan (Staci) Hern and Kevin (Jennifer Rhodes) Hern, grandchildren Hanna, Patrick and Ryan Janovic Jr., and Noah Hern.
Services 11 a.m. June 15 at Evans Funeral Home in Milford. Interment at Laurel Memorial Cemetery in Symmes Township. Memorials to Cincinnati Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired or Cincinnati Nature Center.
