When they arrived, they found the home engulfed in flames. They extinguished the fire and began their investigation with assistance from the state fire marshall.

The investigation revealed that the fire was intentionally set.

William P. Donahoe Jr., 57, of Goshen Township was arrested at 7:40 a.m. June 3 after Union Township police spotted his vehicle on state Route 32 and pulled him over. He was taken into custody without incident.

Donahoe told Goshen Police that he had become highly emotional over a pending separation with his wife so he set her clothing on fire in the master bedroom. Donahoe also doused the couch with gasoline and it ignited. He immediately fled.
