Felicity Franklin FFA members Kimberly Wilson and Alexis Faubion helping create bags of necessities for the members of the Felicity community at the Felicity Community Missions, which is housed at the Felicity Methodist Church.
The Felicity-Franklin FFA collected non-perishable foods for the Harvest for America canned food drive competition through the National FFA Association.

Last year, the chapter barely lost taking second place and was awarded with a gift card for Carhart clothing for $1,000, which the chapter used to buy all of the members T-shirts, and a $300 gift certificate to the FFA Shop.

All the food that the chapter collects goes to Felicity Community Missions, which is housed at the Felicity Methodist Church. The total pounds of food that the chapter collected with the Felicity National Honor Society was 1,389.5 pounds during the months of November and December. The chapter collected money at the annual state trooper game and the middle school and high school foundation games against Manchester High School with the help of FUND for Kids.

The FFA members assist the food pantry two-to-three times a month with the unloading and sorting of food to stock the pantry.

Since August, the members have assisted with stocking an additional 33,594 pounds of food. Many members volunteer the third Thursday of each month at the pantry by sorting food and toiletries and carrying items to the patrons’ vehicles.

This coming year the Felicity-Franklin FFA is hoping to win the first place prize in the state contest and is very proud of the difference they are making in their community.
