The Milford varsity girls water polo team has once again achieved a 20 victory season. Within their 26 game regular season schedule this year the E-Gals are 20-6.

Milford has a strong group of veterans to be led by the very experienced and talented head coach Gary Tameris who began water polo as a varsity high school sport at MHS and Clermont County in 1989. He has been the head swimming coach since 1990.

This solid group of returnees experienced competing in the state championship tournament last year.

Said Tameris, “Swimming and water polo go hand-in-hand. . .

“This team is a dedicated team that works hard year ‘round.

“We have young kids who are providing us a feeder program. They are beginning young and are more experienced by the time they get to the high school.”

Tameris with all of his seasons of coaching quality, talented teams has compiled a very enviable record of 240-223-6 before his charges entered their own annual varsity water polo tournament.

He praised the talents of a number of his charges.

“Prus is back after earning first team all-state last year. She is the backbone of the team. . .

“Utech was second team all-state last year. . .

Kayla Williams, Bowling, Hudson, Storch, and Foote were singled out by their coach for being very experienced and talented returning starting veterans back in the aqua and they have shown one of the things expected of them, to be superb team leaders by example and talent.

Entering the Milford Invitational, the varsity girls’ scores were Sycamore 6-4, Upper Arlington 11-14, Glen Oak 9-8, Napoleon 6-5, Kilbourne 9-5, Thomas Worthington 6-11, Upper Arlington 10-12, Mason 8-3, Princeton 15-4, Mason 10-5, Sycamore 6-8, Princeton 13-8, Sycamore 14-12, Thomas Worthington 8-14, Sylvania 13-6, Mason 9-2, Sycamore 13-7, Princeton 6-5, Napoleon 12-8, Thomas Worthington 7-5, Mason 10-7, Sycamore 5-4, St. Ursula 19-4, Mason 7-5, Napoleon 2-4, and Princeton 12-8.

“The results of this season have been because of the terrific results of the domination of our very experienced seniors. They are producing a great season for us,” said Tameris. “I expect a strong finish, but we’re going to need to bring our A game every game.”

The Milford varsity roster includes the highly acclaimed seniors, all fielders, Madison Bowling, Sydney Laskarzewski, Kendall Lehr, Jordan Rendell, Julia Prus, Kayla Villano, Mariah Hudson, and Aleeyse Utech. Prus and Villano are the co-captains.

The juniors, both fielders, are Morgan Litmer and Britttany Glasgow.

The sophomores are goalkeeper Sage Foote and fielders Emmy Pena, Grace Villano, Lindsey Bugajski, Kelly Krieger, Savannah Montgomery, Chelsea Sick, Carolyn Storch, Cara Snell, Logan Laskarzewski, Sarah Imbus, and Lucy Limke.

The freshmen are Avriana Johnson, Caitlyn Klinkenberg, and Lindsey Matulis.

The assistant coach is Paul Splitt.
