On hand to witness his daughter Paige sign her collegiate letter-of-intent was her father Rick Spencer.
Paige Spencer, Amelia High School senior, will be attending Tennessee Tech University, Cookeville, Tn., to further her education and to continue playing soccer. She has decided she will be a nursing major.

“I picked Tennessee Tech because they contacted me first and they have a really awesome nursing program,” she said.

At Amelia High, she was an outstanding soccer player where she was a Southern Buckeye Conference American Division all-star and that division’s Player of the Year for her senior season. She was a scholar-athlete award winner and received from her teammates the honor of being chosen as the Barons’ best offensive player.

In addition to her sports career she was a member of the Amelia student council and the National Honor Society.

Recalling some of the highlights of her stellar prep sports career, she said, “My sister, Megan, coached me some during high school. . . I was the team’s leading scorer during my junior year.”

“My parents (Rick and Tammy Spencer) supported me in everything and anything I did,” said Paige of important people in her life’s success. “My sisters really encouraged me and were supportive of me all the time.
