The Inaugural Batavia High School Golf Outing took place at Taylor Glen Golf Course in Nicholsville. All the proceeds raised from the tournament will go to helping the athletes of Batavia High School to pay for their players’ fees, spirit packs, and new equipment.

Ike Clepper, assistant Batavia varsity football coach and tournament chairman pointed out a total of 96 male and female golfers took part. A total of 24 teams were formed.

He said, “Taylor Glen was very accommodating and very helpful. the course was great. The competition created a great atmosphere.”

The first place team was the foursome of captain Bobby Timinski. There were two teams tied for second place, that of captain Paul Van Vleet and that of captain Kyle Ruscher. The fourth place team was that of Eric Hermanson, Aaron Hermanson, Shane Spears, and Eric Smith.

The trophy for the closest shot to the pin was earned by Sue Thomas.

Other outstanding teams out on the course in the thick of the hard-fought competition were those of Chad Kelley, Craig Kelley, Brad Kelley, and Dennis Kelley; Dennis Clepper, Ryan Clepper, Ray Ayers, and Joe Moorehead; J. L. Meyers, George Hammack, Jake Fore and Pat Fore; Rick Campbell, Don Sizer, Donnie Wilson, and Bob Gruber; Nathan Bishop, Ed Stewart, Mike Stewart, and Dale Bishop; Seth Layman, Adam Layman, Jason Simpson, and Mike Keubler; Derek Boggs, Caleb Corrill, Tim Clepper, and Jacob Bradburn; and Scott Musselman, Scott Musselman Jr., Terry Musselman, and Chad McCord.
