Clermont County’s League for Animal Welfare will host its Sixth Annual Wine and Whiskers Tasting and Auction from 7 – 11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22. The annual event will be held at the Greenacres Arts Center in the Village of Indian Hill, 8400 Blome Road, Cincinnati.
League Board Member and Event Committee Chair Diann Cox says guests can enjoy a wider range of distinctive wines for sampling as well as more appetizers and decadent desserts than previous years.
“This year, our board decided to make the wine tasting and auction its signature event,” explains Cox, “so our committee has been working diligently to make that decision a reality with more wines to sample and more appetizers and desserts.”
Cox noted that this year’s event will include a “Man Cave” with beer and auction items ideal for men and a “Diva Den” for featuring champagne and auction items ideal for divas. The committee is also expanding the most popular silent auction item – art created by pets at the League’s no-kill shelter.
“We recruit our most creative cats and dogs, let them tap their paws into washable, completely safe paint, and let them create art on canvases. We then have the art professionally matted and framed and add them to the silent auction. Last year, what started as a unique, fun offering brought in almost $1500,” Cox said.
Cost for the event is $50 per person for early bird registration (purchased before Oct. 7) and $65 per person after Oct. 7. Sponsorship opportunities at various levels are available. To register for the event or for more information about the event or sponsorship opportunities, visit www.lfaw.org or call the League for Animal Welfare at (513) 735-0299.
All proceeds from the Wine & Whiskers Tasting & Auction are used to support the homeless animals throughout Greater Cincinnati. The League is located at 4193 Taylor Road in Batavia.
