Ryan Golden, Milford High School senior, has chosen Kentucky Christian University, Grayson, Ky., to further his education and his athletic career.

He has chosen to pursue nursing as his college major and he will play football for the Knights.

“Kentucky Christian has the number one nursing program in Kentucky,” he said. “The environment is sound there, too.”

Golden enjoyed an outstanding career with the Eagles. He was a Fort Ancient Valley Conference Buckeye and East divisions all-star on the gridiron and on the track. He lettered in both football and track and field and played one season of basketball. He owns the school long jump record at 21-feet and seven-inches and was chosen as the Red and White’s most valuable field person in the spring and in the autumn he was selected as Milford’s defensive player of the year.

“I really liked the senior dinners we had together during football season,” he recalled as a highlight of his standout athletic career. “The Turpin (football) game this year we played well as a team for the first time. . . Breaking the school (long jump) record at Kettering Fairmont was fantastic.”

Golden praised several very important positive influences in his life.

“My dad (Dennis Golden) taught me to play football. . . my great grandpa (Bill Palmer) taught me to always try even if the odds didn’t favor me. . . my mom (Jennifer Golden) has always been there for me.”
