Lahrmer
Clermont County’s assistant administrator, Scot Lahrmer, will be retiring this summer.

“He submitted his resignation to the board that said he wanted to move on and explore new avenues in his career,” said David Spinney, administrator.

Lahrmer became assistant county administrator in October 2006. From 1989 to 2006 he served as the city manager of Mason, Ohio. Spinney said as of August 2011, Lahrmer will have served as a public employee of the state for 30 years.

Lahrmer’s background is in economic development, growth and management. He received his bachelor’s degree from Ohio Northern University and his master’s degree from the University of Akron, both were for public administration.

“I appreciated his support while he was assistant county administrator,” Spinney said. “He has provided me the support in whatever I asked him to do.”

Spinney said Lahrmer will officially retire Aug. 1, but he is using accumulated vacation time and is no longer in the office.

Lahrmer’s position has not been filled yet, but Spinney said they do intend to fill it.
