Several levies will be decided on by voters in a special election to be held May 3 in Clermont County.

Batavia, West Clermont, Loveland, and Little Miami local school districts and the village of New Richmond are all included in the election.

Citizens in the Batavia Local School District will vote on adding an additional tax levy for the purpose of current expenses. The levy, not to exceed 6.9 mills, or $0.69 for each $100 of valuation, would begin in 2011 and would be first due in 2012.

West Clermont School District citizens will vote to add an additional tax for the purpose of avoiding an operation deficit. The levy would amount to 7.9 mills, or $0.79 for each $100 of valuation for a period of 10 years, commencing in 2011 and first due in 2012.

New Richmond citizens will vote to renew the tax benefit for the village of New Richmond, for the purpose of current expenses. The amount would not exceed three mills, or $.30 for each $100 valuation, for five years, beginning in 2011 and first due in 2012.

Citizens can vote early by stopping by the Clermont County Board of Elections office at 76 S. Riverside Drive in Batavia through May 2. On May 3 citizens must vote at their assigned polling locations.
