Amelia, New Richmond, and Williamsburg emerged with wins in Clermont County high school varsity football season. The Barons and the Lions are tied for first place in the Southern Buckeye Conference American Division and ‘Burg resides on the top rung of the Southern Buckeye Conference National Division.

Amelia (3-2 overall) defeated Goshen (1-4 overall) on the Warriors’ reservation 21-14. This was a Southern Buckeye American showdown. The Barons led after a scoreless first quarter 14-0 and 21-0 before a strong Goshen rally in the final 12 minutes.

Scott Weaver, senior running back and one of Greater Cincinnati’s leaders in rushing, scored two TDs for the Barons on runs of 18 and 67 yards and Weaver threw a 45-yard pass to Zac Hultz for the other TD. Robbie Jensen kicked three extra points.
