Ohio Attorney General Richard Cordray announced a new program being implemented in four Ohio law enforcement jurisdictions in a concerted effort to stop methamphetamine production.
“The jurisdictions we picked out are on the cutting edge,” Cordray said. “Sheriff Rodenberg has been fighting meth for 10 years and he really started before it was on the radar for much of Ohio.”
Cordray’s new program expands on the pseudophedrine reporting system to include many ingredients used in the production of meth including ether, table salt, lithium, sulfuric acid, iodine, matches, anhydrous ammonia, and cold packs. Stores will also be on the lookout for purchases of equipment used in meth production such as pop bottles, tubing, coffee filters, gallon gas cans, 20-pound propane tanks, funnels, glass cookware, and hot plates.
