The Bethel-Tate Board of Education voted to place a five-year, 1 percent earned income tax levy on the November ballot.

District Superintendent Jim Smith said in a press release the levy will help the school offset an estimated $900,000 cut in state funding in the 2011 biennial state budget.

“The state of Ohio has estimated a short fall of $8 billion dollars for the next biennial budget that begins in 2011,” Smith said. “The district estimates this will result in a 10 percent drop in annual state funding.”
