Helen Jo Megie-Rooks, 73, of Loveland, died Friday, July 16, 2010 in Loveland. She was born Aug. 1, 1936 in Cincinnati.
Megie-Rooks was a member of the Loveland OES. She graduated from Deer Park High School with the class of 1954 and from Raymond Walters Nursing College in 1986. She worked as an RN at Bethesda North Hospital until her retirement in 1996.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Elmore E. “PeeWee” Megie, parents Roy C. Ferguson and Helen Margaret Ferguson-Shivel (nee. Foertsch), daughter Brenda L. Megie, and stepdaughter Leslie Fisher.
Megie-Rooks is survived by her husband John Leslie “Jack” Rooks of Loveland, Barbara Jo (Nels) Phillips-Schnecker of Loveland, David R. (Arnnette) Megie of Loveland, Thomas A. (Stacy) Megie, of Loveland, stepdaughter Jackie (Bill) Siders, of Loveland, grandchildren Jennifer L. Ennis, Brian J. (Casey) Phillips, Matthew A. (Randi Taylor) Phillips, Ginger S. Schnecker, Chelsea E. Megie, T. Caleb Megie, Courtney A. Megie, C.J. Megie, Kristin (Tim) Vandercook, and Andrea (Bill) Cuzzort, seven great grandchildren, and her sister-in-law Sally Carr, of Loveland.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at Craver Riggs Funeral Home, Milford.
