This past weekend was wet and soggy outside, but the halls of Summerside Woods were warm and dry, and spirits were high, as 45 senior citizens began moving into their new home on Summerside Road in Union Township.
A grand opening and dedication ceremony is planned for June 29. More details about this event will be provided at a later date.
Primary funding for Summerside Woods was provided by the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development, with local support by Fifth Third Bank.
As has been true in the development of all of our senior housing facilities, no Senior Services Levy dollars were used in the development of Summerside Woods. The Union Township Trustees, along with Township Administrator Ken Geis and his staff, were instrumental in helping facilitate the development of Summerside Woods, for which we are deeply grateful.
Clermont Senior Services now operates safe affordable housing for senior citizens at six locations throughout Clermont County, with a total of 224 apartments.
All of the facilities are similarly designed, offering one-bedroom apartments for independent living.
