Jacob Ison, a 2005 graduate of Batavia High School, has just completed a very successful wrestling career at Ohio University (OU).

His most recent success was competing in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championships that took place in Omaha, Neb.

Ison qualified for the national collegiate championship tournament with an impressive 22-6 record. He was victorious in his first two bouts. He defeated Jeff James of Oklahoma 7-4 and Luke Manuel of Purdue (ranked ninth in the nation in the 174-pound weight class) 7-5. He was finally eliminated by a 6-3 loss to Jordan Blanton of Illinois (ranked 10th in the nation).
