The rooms are rented and the waiting list is long at Summerside Woods Apartments, which is scheduled to open May 1.

The new facility is the sixth housing unit built by Clermont Senior Services since 1998. Currently, the non-profit organization operates facilities in New Richmond, Amelia, Goshen, Williamsburg, and Felicity.

The apartments provide local seniors the opportunity to live in their own community at an affordable rate.

“There’s really a large need for affordable housing for seniors,” Clermont Senior Services Executive Director George Brown said. “We offer an alternative to moving to another community or out of the county.”
