The National Weather Service in Wilmington reports that with the latest snowfall amounts in the 7 to 8 inch range, the Cincinnati area has broken the record for the snowiest February since 1914.

As of Monday, Feb. 15, the tri-state area recorded 23.1 inches of snow in February. The old record was 21.4 inches. In more recent history, the Cincinnati area recorded 17.4 inches of snow in February 2003.

In Clermont County, a snowfall amount of 8 inches was reported in Batavia on Feb. 15. The snow which started coming down about midnight continued throughout the day making it difficult for road crews to keep the highways clear.
