Join local pep bands, cheerleaders, dance teams, and county leaders for an afternoon Rally for the 2010 Census at Eastgate Mall from 12 – 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16.  The interactive 2010 Census Portrait of America Road Tour will also be at the mall, located in Union Township, to explain why the Census is important to Clermont County, and there will be an opportunity to apply for Census jobs.

At 2 p.m., Clermont County Commission President Ed Humphrey, State Representative Joe Uecker (R-66), State Representative Danny Bubp (R-88), Clermont Northeastern (CNE) Superintendent Neil Leist, and Milford Superintendent Bob Farrell will make brief comments on how data from the 2010 Census impacts more than $400 billion a year in federal funding distributed to state and local governments.

Accurate data reflecting changes in our community is crucial in apportioning seats in the U.S. House of Representatives and deciding how more than $400 billion per year is allocated for projects like new hospitals and schools; that’s more than $4 trillion over a 10-year period for things like new roads and schools, and services like job training centers.

Throughout the afternoon, enjoy performances by Glen Este cheerleaders, the Amelia Rhythm and Blue pep band, CNE cheerleaders and pep band, and many more.
