Sylvia L. Davis, 61, of Bethel, died Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009 at her residence. She was born Feb. 13, 1948 in Ashland, Ky., the daughter of John and Pauline Songer Smith.
Mrs. Davis was a member of Amelia First Church of God and worked for the University of Cincinnati Clermont campus as an administrative coordinator for 20 years. She was active in her church, donating many hours in community outreach for the church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, sewing and cooking.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Davis is survived by two sons, Chris of Amelia and Jeff of Bethel; her husband, James of Cleveland, Tenn.; twin sister, Cynthia Petrey of Amelia; one brother, Michael Smith of Bethel and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Dec. 8 at Amelia First Church of God.
Interment at Laurel Cemetery in Bethel.
