Unwanted animals have several advocates looking out for their welfare in Clermont County and residents of the county have choices when looking for a shelter. Clermont County Humane Society, operated by the county, is one option facing those who want to drop off animals.

The Humane Society is a non-profit organization, founded in 1957. Over the past five years they offered 24,832 animals shelter care; 4,898 animals were adopted; 1,588 animals were reunited with their families and 17,346 animals were euthanized.

According to Vickie McGraw, kennel manager, the shelter is obligated to take all the animals which are brought to them. There is a fee charged for leaving an animal which goes toward the care and feeding of the animal.
