Evalou Jones, 71, of Williamsburg, died Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009.

Mrs. Jones was one of the founding members of the Williamsburg Fire Department Auxiliary and a member of the Ohio State Firefighters Association Auxiliary for more than 50 years. She served in various roles and currently as historian. She was a member of Williamsburg United Methodist Church for more than 50 years, sang in the choir and was the director of the Williamsburg Emergency Mission. She was a florist in Williamsburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul A. Jones; her father, Kermit Patterson; her mother and step father, Barbara and Richard Ashmore; mother-in-law, Clara Jones and grandparents, Albert and Iva Patterson.

She is survived by her daughters, Paula (David) McCollum, Pam (Jim) Murphy, Patti Jones and Tracie Jones; one son, Jeff (Nancy) Jones; sisters-in-law, Mary (Phil) Boyd and Dottie (Tom) Dial; nine grandchildren, Jason, David, Jenny, Renee, James, Elizabeth, Joe, Jasmine and Joshua and 10 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held 6 – 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30 at Williamsburg United Methodist Church with Celestine Chapter 185 OES Services at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30 at the church.

Memorials may be made to Paul A. Jones Volunteers Make a Difference Scholarship Fund or the Williamsburg Emergency Mission.
