Many of the services already offered in Clermont County to families in crisis received a boost this month with the announcement of a $9 million grant.

The grant money will be divided over the next six years to benefit children and youth with serious mental health challenges and their families. Clermont County Alcohol Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services along with 20 agencies nationwide were selected to receive $170.5 million in funds.

“This was our fourth attempt to get this grant,” said Karen Scherra, director of the Mental Health and Recovery Board. “It has been a long, long process, but we believe in what we are trying to do.”
