Amelia residents will be receiving direct billing from Rumpke for trash removal beginning Sept. 1 according to a letter sent to all residents from Amelia Village Mayor Leroy Ellington.
Until now, the village paid for this trash removal with a waste levy that was approved and implemented by citizens more than five years ago, according to Mayor Ellington.
He said that when the levy expired last year, the village council chose not to place a new levy on the ballot and instead opted to have residents billed directly.
