At the recommendation of Mayor Ramona Carr, the village council of New Richmond appointed a new police chief at its meeting Tuesday, July 28. Lieutenant Randy Harvey of the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office was named the new chief.

Harvey is a 26 year veteran of law enforcement who has worked for the Clermont County sheriff’s office for 25 years.

“Lieutenant Harvey has served us honorably and effectively for over two decades here at the sheriff’s office in a number of jobs,” Sheriff A.J. “Tim” Rodenberg said. “Over the last few years he has served us as an administrative lieutenant. He was responsible for acquiring monetary grants and getting money from other sources to help with our operations.”
