The Clermont County Public Library Board of Trustees is scrambling to come up with a plan to balance its budget following reports from the state that funding will be cut an additional 30 percent.

The Clermont County Public Library 2008 Annual Report states that libraries receive 75 percent of their funding from the state, 18 percent from property and local taxes, four percent from fines and fees and four percent from other revenue.

In a recent press release the CCPL noted that when a levy was passed in November 2008, the library’s guaranteed income from the state was $6,157,000 plus $3,868,000 from local property taxes totaling $10,025,000.
