The Clermont Northeastern School District has two advocates working to save them money. Superintendent Neil Leist and treasurer Brian Switzer have discovered ways to not only stretch money, but also to increase revenue without asking taxpayers to approve an operating levy.

“When I took over three years ago, everyone on the board was talking about possibly coming back for a fifth run for an operating levy,” said Leist. “I talked to Brian and we agreed to get the school board to give us a year to tighten our belts and see what we could do. The board allows us to do this. We spend about two days each month in just focusing on ways to help the financial situation.”
