A Loveland woman is promoting the idea of Sharing Gardens in the area and wants others to participate.

During World War II, people planted Victory Gardens to help supplement their pantries when food was being rationed and today we hear about Recession Gardens, which are planted by families to help supplement their food budgets. According to Laura McManis, the mission of the Sharing Gardens is to help your neighbor in need by sharing your garden’s surplus. The intention is to help your community.

McManis established the basis for the project while seeking a partner organization in the area. In her search, she discovered that although many organizations were accepting donations, there wasn’t anyone specifically directing people what to donate or where to donate.
