Batavia Township Service Director Ken Embry addressed the board of trustees about several issues during their meeting Tuesday, April 7.

Embry had prepared a map showing the salt truck routes throughout the township. Each route had a breakdown of round-trip miles from the salt barn through the township.

“On route one the trip is 56.2 miles from the barn to all the streets and back to the barn,” Township Administrator Rex Parsons said. “Each route covers between 48.9 miles to 56.2 miles in a round trip. We are looking at a lot of travel time to get to some of these routes. If we decided to put a satellite station closer to the routes, it would benefit us greatly due to the fact that we would have a truck here. With a truck located closer to the streets we service, we could respond quicker.”
