The US Marine Corps Eastgate Recruiting Substation held a ‘family night’ at the Clermont County Fairgrounds March 20 for the families of about two dozen young men and women entering the US Marine Corps.

Family night is an opportunity for the parents of the poolees, the men and women who have enlisted in the delayed entry program but who have not yet started boot camp, to ask questions in an informal setting about what they and their children can expect from training.

Sergeant Larry Morales, a drill instructor at the Marine Corps training center at Parris Island, S.C., was on hand to give the poolees a sample of the “incentive physical training” they can expect at boot camp. He also answered questions from poolees and their parents about boot camp.
