Chief of police indicted

New Richmond Police Chief David Willoughby was indicted by the Clermont County Grand Jury Wednesday, March 18 on six charges. He has been on administrative leave with pay since Sept. 22, 2008 and has been under investigation by the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation on complaints of using village property for personal use and improper use of a special computer for law enforcement.

The grand jury indicted Willoughby on one count of menacing by stalking, two counts of unauthorized use of computer property, one count of obstruction of official business, one count of dereliction of duty and one count of theft in office.
