Several Bethel council members expressed their observations about the newest addition to Burke Park during their meeting on Monday, March 9.

“I have heard comments from several people in the village about the skate park,” said Mayor John Swarthout. “They are thanking us for the park and are very happy that the kids have a place to practice their skills. It is being used by the kids and there are fewer problems with them skating on other property.”

“I cruise by the skate park a lot and it is great to see it being used,” said Councilwoman Donna Gunn. “It is keeping the kids from skating at the library and on the wall by the bank. Just one comment, I have noticed a few cans and bottles lying around and have stopped and asked the kids to clean up after themselves. A trash can is available next to the skate area.”
