The two West Clermont schools got the county’s varsity boys basketball squads off to an impressive start in the sectional tournament.

The Barons fractured Fairfield, the largest high school in the state, 44-41 in the Division I sectional that took place at Lakota West High School.

The Clermont countians were in the lead at each intermission 12-11, 27-19, and 34-33.

Powering the Blue and White’s offensive attack was senior forward Willie Tansey with 13 points and senior guard Donovan Schwalbach with 12.
