In a special meeting Friday, Jan. 30 the Bethel-Tate Local School District Board of Education decided to put a 5.9 mill emergency property tax on the ballot for Tuesday, May 5.

After a presentation by Paul Fallon, with Fallon Research, the board discussed its options and agreed that asking the voters for an increase in property tax was the best choice.

“After the last election, Paul Fallon did a survey of the Bethel community,” said James Smith, superintendent of Bethel-Tate Schools. “He is a well-known polling person within the school community and he found out that there is good support of the school district in our community.”
