The Clermont County Parks District is seriously looking at the former Bethel water treatment plant as a park according to Councilman Tim Cherry.

Cherry reported on the progress of the project to Bethel Council members at its meeting Monday, Jan. 26.

“I met with Chris Clingman, who is the director of the Clermont County Parks District, to give him an understanding of what the water treatment plant property is like,” said Cherry. “He expressed an interest in the property and looked at it from the standpoint of maintaining it as a public venue. He brought out a presentation to see what their (the park board) thoughts are, what the park district would like to see happen. He was very encouraged by their board who would like to see a park in every township within the county. There is nothing out our way, so this would be a good thing for them to pursue that property.”
