The Williamsburg to Batavia Hike and Bike Trail is a little closer to a reality after a grant approval was received, according to Williamsburg Mayor Mary Ann Lefker.
During the council meeting held Thursday, Jan. 8, Mayor Lefker announced that a Transportation Enhancement Grant in the amount of $516,468 has been approved.
“We already have the matching funds in place,” said Mayor Lefker. “The cost of replacing the bridge over Cain Run Creek has come in lower than we expected and with this grant approval we can now get the bridge into the campground.”
