The Amelia Village Police Department has partnered with the recently formed Amelia Senior Support Commission to help in enhancing the quality of life for all of the senior citizens who reside in the village.

The “Safer Seniors” program, which was started by the Amelia Police Department just this month, is designed to assist village seniors in emergency situations and to provide information on various concerning topics, such as crime prevention, said Amelia Police Chief Jeff Sucher.

“And to just check on their health, well-being, and welfare,” Sucher said. “And to provide them with a higher quality of life – some of these folks just need to be checked on from time to time.”
