The peak season for deer-related automobile crashes has arrived.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is warning drivers to drive defensively and cautiously, and to be constantly vigilant when it concerns the deer population, especially considering the current explosion in the deer population and ever-expanding urban sprawl.

“This is the peak season for deer in rural Clermont County,” said Ohio State Highway Patrol Batavia Post commander Randy McElfresh. “This year, it seems to just be starting now. We think that it is because the warm weather seems to be lasting a little bit longer this year.”
