The school bus drivers for the New Richmond Exempted School District held a free outreach dinner in the village last weekend.

Held for five hours at the New Richmond civic center Nov. 1, the outreach dinner was a way for the school district’s transportation department to get to know the people and the students who live and work in the district, and as a way to just get more involved in the community, said event organizer and New Richmond School District first-year transportation director Prescott.

“Sometimes the bus drivers in an area are never even known on a personal level,” Prescott said. “They are just known as the men and women that transport kids to and from school – and that is something that we would like to change.”
