Amelia Residents for Fiscal Responsibility, a group formed to have the village formally dissolved, has once again come up short in collecting enough valid signatures to have the dissolution petition placed on the November ballot.
On Aug. 25, Amelia mayor Leroy Ellington and village council were told by the Clermont County Board of Elections that the the group collecting the petitions failed to gain enough valid signatures for inclusion on the ballot.
At that time, 189 of the 468 signatures collected in support of dissolving the village appeared to be invalid, and not from registered village electors, the mayor said.
