A total of 21 Clermont County athletes returned home with 23 medals earned from the Annual Ohio Special Olympics Games. This special Olympics took place at Jesse Owens Stadium on the campus of Ohio State University, Columbus.
“I thought they did very well,” said Carol Ottman the head person of the Clermont County delegation.. “A lot of the athletes who represented Clermont County did very well. I am really proud of them.”
Gold medals were earned by Rocky Arnett of Bethel, Dwayne Castle of Milford, Denise Hendrickson of Summerside, Cathy Mooi of Loveland, and Emily Fleming of Milford in bowling and Delbert Witt of Loveland in track and field (100-meters dash).
Silver medals were achieved by Walter Green of New Richmond, Chris Hart of Batavia, Marco Huber of Batavia, Melissa Doyle of Mount Carmel, and Jackie Foy of Batavia in bowling.
