The Clermont County Board of Commissioners hosted a town-hall style meeting at the Union Township Civic Center June 27.

Attended by 50 people, the town hall meeting was held as a chance for Union Township, Pierce Township, Amelia, and the West Clermont School District to update the county on programs and initiatives in place for the months and years ahead.

It was also a chance for the aforementioned entities to, as commission president Bob Proud said, to “boast” of their past accomplishments and successful initiatives already in place.

West Clermont Assistant superintendent Mary Ellen Steele-Pierce and Director of Administrative Services Ed Dyer gave the board and those assembled an update on the two new schools to be built and also displayed artist renderings of the new Amelia Elementary and the Withamsville-Tobasco Elementary Schools, to be completed by 2011.
