The New Richmond Police Department raided a used car lot last week and arrested owner Jeff McGinnis for allegedly running an illegal operation.
The Carriage Collection used car lot, located at 2383 State Route 132, came to the attention of the New Richmond Police when they received several complaints from customers who paid for cars but then never received them.
“We have victims here that paid for cars in March, never received the cars, never received the title, he stopped answering their phone calls, and will not refund their money,” New Richmond police chief David Willoughby said.
Some of the customers went to the business to inquire about their purchased cars, whereupon McGinnis threatened them with bodily harm if they did not leave him alone, Willoughby said.
