Visitors to the 159th annual Clermont County Fair will notice more convenient free space for parking this year.

The Clermont County Agricultural Society has purchased 23.8 acres of land adjacent to the fairgrounds for $195,400.

Bea Faul, the agricultural society president, said that half of the land was purchased last year from Theodorus Nagelhout for $95,400; the other half was sold to the society three weeks ago from his sister Johanna Wedding for $100,000.

“We hope to use the land to add onto our camping area and add additional parking,” Faul said. “We have been needing more ground for years because the 38-acre fairgrounds are landlocked.”
