The Bethel village council has adopted a resolution to establish a FEMA snow special revenue fund.

Earlier this month, the federal government declared the counties hit by the blizzard in early March to be in a state of emergency before promising emergency relief funds to those areas in Clermont in order to help with the clean-up costs associated with that storm.

Village council members also approved the designation of Bethel village fiscal officer Angel Burton as the agent for coordinating the receipts of the FEMA grant, or the emergency relief assistance, to reimburse the village.

“We are unsure of the exact amount of the funds,” Burton told council at its regular meeting May 12. “I estimate it to be close to $3,000, but it might be more.”
